I put the Sync level to full and then just set the Prowlarr Server to your localhost:port and the same for whatever *arr service you're linking it to (notice it doesn't autofill the suggestions for some reason so I had to actually type out the defaults it had listed). Then go to Settings > Apps > ApplicationsĬlick the button for this and select the application you want to add. To set an indexer go to Indexers, click add indexer, and choose the one you want. By default Prowlarr is localhost:9696 and Sonarr is localhost:8989. Once you set up each of your *arr services and run them they should have given you the address/port to reach the web interfaces. Then on the ipleak page it will show you the ip address of for your torrent. Just click activate, copy the url, and in Deluge click "add" then "url" and paste in the url. Note, you can check your torrent's ip address using and at the bottom there is a "Torrent Address detection". Just make sure you read to the bottom of the page so that you're grabbing the right port / address. It's pretty much just copying and pasting your information into the Socksv5 w/ Auth setting in Deluge > Preferences > Proxy. NordVPN's official guide to setup a proxy on Deluge can be found here. With Deluge I mainly just connected to the daemon, then made sure to go into the proxy settings and add my NordVPN account. You can do that under Preferences > Interface. The first message you'll get when you pull up the Deluge web interface will be able to change the password. Now that everything is installed you can link them all together. Note the web GUI will most likely run on localhost:8112 by default. The repository part is pretty much the same, then you add the user and group, create the service file for the daemon, and then another for the web GUI. Since this is a bit more in-depth with a lot of copy and pasting, I highly suggest you read through it starting from "Install Deluge BitTorrent on Ubuntu 20.04 Server". After that I followed the guide on Linux Babe to setup the service. Basically what I did though was just add the deluge-team stable PPA repository, did an apt update, and installed deluged, deluge-web, and deluge-console. I'd suggest looking at linuxbabe's guide here for a bit more information. The official documentation for installing Deluge on linux is here, however it's pretty bare bones. I haven't run into any issues with it so far. Note, Sonarr mentions that its group should be the same as the others, but the script seems to do it differently so *shrug*. GID should be replaced with a unique ID and GROUP_NAME with whatever the group name is.
This just creates the group, without it the script seemed to have an error about not having a group with the proper name. Note though that I'm fairly certain you have to first create a group for whatever service you're wanting to run. sh file like it says, copy and paste the text into it, and then bash it. So I used this installation script that they recommended by the community. It seemed like Servarr was highly encouraging people to use the community installation script despite it being "unofficial". I'm sure there are better ways of doing it, but that's just how I did it. With the credentials being what you use for access to the share, and "noperm" allowing you to not need permission to read/write to it. The "//10.0.0.1/Share" is the location of your share, and the /media/share is where you're mounting it to. sudo mount -o noperm,credentials=/root/.creds //10.0.0.1/Share /media/share creds file I added the username and password:Īfter that I went ahead and mounted the share: To test this I then setup my SMB share first just to make sure it was working with Sonarr. After some research it looked like I was needing the "noperm" attribute for the mount. Originally I ran into an issue with Sonarr not having proper access to my SMB share. It was a pretty straightforward with just a few commands, not much to really explain here. (I tried with them and it caused an error.) I then followed those instructions, skipping the optional Mono and MediaInfo dependencies.

To do this I went to the Sonarr website download section under linux. I'm also using Deluge with NordVPN as a proxy.
I'm running Ubuntu 22.04 in a VM on ESXi and I mounted a SMB share from FreeNAS to both the 'arr' VM that has the stack on it and my 'Jellyfin' VM. Everyone was incredibly helpful so I thought I'd pass it on and offer up what I've learned from my experiences there so that anyone in similar situations in the future might be able to have an easier time. This is just how I personally got things to work. In fact, I'm telling you now that I'm certain there are more secure and optimal configurations. Disclaimer: I am in no way, shape, or form suggesting that this is the optimal way to set this up.
